CLASSIC TURKISH MUSIC
Status of TRT
Organized by TRT in 1973:

CONTEMPORARY TURKISH ART MUSIC DECISIONS:
1- Presentation of polyphonic music programs, most of them in short and simple explanations for the public. The subject of works with a theme, such as symphonic poetry, must be explained. The texts of my songs and arias should be summarized in three to five sentences. Aryas should be sung in Turkish as much as possible in recordings with local artists.
2- The chapters and titles of the works should be explained.
3- Explanatory music programs to be prepared by well-known music experts should be given as wide a place as possible. These explanations should not be too technical, too dry, and embellished with jokes and stories.
4- One should not use polyphonic art music only in mourning days and disasters.
5- Polyphonic music programs should not be pushed to late hours when radios are rarely listened to.
6- Our composers should order works that are based on Turkish folk music and Turkish classical music (traditional Turkish music) or take their subject from Turkish legends and tales, Turkish history, Turkish literature, competitions should be held on the same subjects, folklore to be held in order to spread polyphonic music. In their harmonization, due importance should be given to the playing moods. Works of this kind can be an effective means of making multiple voices pleasant and listenable on our radios.
7- Watching the concerts with the works of Turkish composers on site, broadcasting them on our radios with interviews and recordings on tape will ensure that polyphonic music attracts more attention among the public.
8- TRT should order and vocalize national works that can bring polyphonic choral music to the public to our composers, and such works should be included in the programs as widely as possible.
9- The following principles should be taken into account in broadcasting the Turkish folk songs that are vocalized on television with the first program:
"With the aim of spreading polyphonic music to large masses through folk songs:
a- To give priority to folk songs that are vocalized in an understandable and adoptable way.
b- If such works are not sufficient, commissioning them to composers.
c- Giving wide coverage to the works of Turkish composers in this genre in the second and third programs.
10- Implementation of all kinds of methods by attracting the attention of the listener in Contemporary Turkish Art Music broadcasts.
11- Ensuring the broadcasting of contemporary Turkish music programs by regional radios.
12- Musical plays that deal with Turkish subjects and moods, as a pioneer of operetta and opera genres, should be prepared in order to familiarize and educate our people with polyphony, and the ones that are ready should be presented on radios, especially on television.
13- Incorporating chamber music in bespoke competitions, dubbing and broadcasts on Contemporary Turkish Art Music.
14- By making use of the special programs of our national holidays (especially the republic day), the intro, break and ending music should be selected from contemporary Turkish music works and these should be published by giving the name of the piece and the composer.
15- Attempting to perform a vocalization of the works in the field of contemporary Turkish art music, on the condition that priority is given to those that are necessary for TRT broadcasts, and also in a way that includes the first works in the field of polyphonic music in the 1826-1930 period.
16- Establishing contact with foreign artists recording on TRT and ensuring that they include their programs in contemporary Turkish music.
TURKISH ART AND FOLK MUSIC DECISIONS:
1- TRT's generally musical broadcasts (Turkish music and western music) are of an artistic taste and understanding, promoting, educating, helping culture and education, and entertaining under these recordings.
2- The use of authentic melodies in dance music and light music, and Turkish melodies can also be used in light music without being corrupted, provided that they comply with the principles determined in Article I.

5- Struggling with poor quality market music in the way outlined in article 5 above.
6- Determining that uncontrolled and uncontrolled Turkish music broadcasting on non-TRT radios is very harmful and continuing the effort to prevent this with the provision of law, and making diplomatic attempts to improve the Turkish music broadcasts in radios broadcast abroad.
7- Classical Turkish music consists of works that are made in accordance with the rules in a certain period and that have artistic power.

9- Turkish music broadcasts should be educational and instructive. There is no room for further deliberation and decision on this item, since the resolution taken in the 1st item of the agenda was adopted and accepted as a general principle and principle, and therefore it was foreseen that the programs should be prepared on this basis.
10- Training and development organization:
Paragraph d: Since there is no Turkish music conservatory or other official institution that teaches, trains and develops Turkish music, TRT must meet this need within its own body and establish the necessary organization to train and develop Turkish music artists.
